Screen Grants in Tasmania — 2026

Funding for eligible applicants to either host or attend professional events in the screen and gaming industry. Funding prioritizes training components, speaker fees, travel, and venue hire for events such as seminars, workshops, labs, incubators, masterclasses, mentorships, or conferences aligned with Screen Tasmania's Industry Development program priorities.

Funding support for eligible applicants to cover short course fees in screen and gaming education. Funding covers 50% of course fees capped at $2,000 per person per financial year, with potential for 100% funding for courses addressing critical crew shortage areas such as costume, hair and makeup, production management, and editing.

Screen Tasmania provides equity investments and recoupable and non-recoupable grants for development and production of Tasmanian screen projects including drama, documentaries, animation, features, long-form and short-form series, and video games. It also offers non-recoupable grants to support individual and industry development for Tasmanian practitioners and businesses.

This program develops professional skills and networks of Tasmanian screen practitioners by supporting experienced practitioners to attend intrastate, interstate and international markets and events. It provides funding for inbound training events and business travel with significant professional development opportunities across four streams: market travel, conference support, short courses, and professional events.

Funding to support eligible screen industry practitioners to attend established Australian screen industry conferences, events, and workshops. The grant covers approximately 50% of eligible expenses including accommodation, airfares, registration fees, per diem, and transfers.
