Sport Grants in Victoria — 2026

This program provides assistance to grassroots sport and active recreation clubs and organisations to replace or repair essential sporting and first aid equipment that has been lost or destroyed as a consequence of fire, flood, significant storms, theft or criminal damage.

The Significant Sporting Events Program is a Victorian Government funding program that assists event organisers to enhance the delivery of national or international level sporting events in Victoria.

The Sporting Club Grants Program provides funding for community sport and active recreation organisations across Victoria.

The Aboriginal Sport Participation Grant Program provides grants to assist Aboriginal Victorians to participate in Aboriginal sporting carnivals, buy sports uniforms and equipment, as well as funding for travel and accommodation expenses for athletes to compete in state and national competitions.

The All Abilities Workforce and Sector Support Program 2024-27 aims to grow, educate and upskill the sport and active recreation workforce and provide more opportunities for people with disability to participate in sport and active recreation, including paid and volunteer roles in regional Victoria.

The Country Football and Netball Program is delivered in partnership with the AFL, AFL Victoria and Netball Victoria. It provides funding to Local Government Authorities to help regional football and netball clubs, associations and umpiring organisations upgrade and develop facilities in rural, regional and outer metropolitan locations.

The Get Active Kids Voucher Program provides Vouchers up to $200 towards the cost of membership, sports equipment or uniforms.

The Kids Active Travel Program encourages primary school aged children to choose active travel options when traveling to and from school to establish positive physical activity behaviours and develop physical literacy skills.

The Level the Field Program aims to support more people with disability to join the sport and recreation workforce in paid and volunteer roles in regional Victoria and is being delivered by Leisure Networks in partnership with the Victorian Government.

The 2025-26 Local Sports Infrastructure Fund (the Fund) is a competitive Victorian Government program, open to Victorian Local Government Authorities and Alpine Resorts Victoria.

Regional All Abilities Participation Grants support grassroots sport and active recreation clubs and community-based not-for-profit organisations, to enable ongoing, sustainable, and meaningful participation for people with disability in regional Victoria.

The Regional Community Sports Infrastructure Fund is a competitive Victorian Government investment program, open to Victorian rural and regional Local Government Authorities and Alpine Resorts Victoria.

Strengthening Regional Community Sport 2024 to 2027 will provide grants to support delivery of local, ‘place based’, strategic projects that help to increase participation on and off the sporting field, and build a variety of stronger, more resilient, self-sufficient and sustainable sports across regional Victoria.

The Sustainable Volunteer Workforce Program 2024 to 2027 will provide grants for initiatives which aim to build a sustainable volunteer workforce and support volunteer engagement, retention and find ways to better support the workforce to deliver sport and active recreation in regional Victoria.

Together More Active 2023-27 provides grants to support organisations to increase participation in sport and active recreation, build a skilled workforce and a develop a safe, inclusive and resilient sector.

This program provides financial assistance to young people aged 16 to 25 years to undertake accreditation to ensure they are qualified to teach swimming and water safety. The new Program has been supported through the Victorian Budget 2022-23 to deliver the Victorian Government’s Our Promise, your future: Victoria’s youth strategy 2022-27.
