Overview
A one-off, non-means tested payment available to individuals adversely affected by a major disaster in Australia or overseas. Provides up to $1,000 for adults and $400 for children who have experienced serious injury, loss of family members, or significant damage to their principal residence.
Eligibility Requirements
Must be at least 16 years of age, an Australian resident or eligible visa holder, and have been adversely affected by a major disaster. Adverse effects include serious injury, death or missing immediate family member, destruction or significant damage to principal residence, or being principal carer of a dependent child affected by the disaster.
