Overview

This NHMRC grant opportunity funds implementation research addressing strategies for strengthening health systems to improve equity in high quality care and health outcomes, and reduce the prevalence and impact of non-communicable diseases. Research must focus on low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) and/or underserved populations such as Indigenous populations in high-income countries, with priority given to Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in HICs.

Eligibility Requirements

Applications must focus on implementation research addressing health system strengthening in LMICs or underserved populations. For HIC funding, research must focus on Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities. Applicants must notify intent to participate via email to international@nhmrc.gov.au before applying.

The 2026 NHMRC-European Partnership for Brain Health (EP BrainHealth) Grant Opportunity supports Australian participation and collaboration in transnational research projects through European Partnership for Brain Health (EP BrainHealth) Call for Proposals. The EP BrainHealth offers 2 calls: one in the field of neurological, mental disorders and sensory disorders (EP BrainHealth Call 1) and one in the field of neurodegenerative disorders (EP BrainHealth Call 2).
