Overview

This program provides funding to support citizen scientists in collecting data and metrics to enhance understanding of the ecological health and resilience of the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage area. Projects will engage the general public in scientific research that contributes to the Reef 2050 Plan goals and generates credible, reliable data to inform policy and management decisions.

Eligibility Requirements

Entities seeking to support the engagement of citizen scientists in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park and/or its catchments are eligible. Projects must align with the Reef 2050 Plan and follow the Australian Citizen Science Association's definition of citizen science.
