This program provides funding for taxonomy and systematics research, training, and recruitment of taxonomists in Australia. Grants support projects researching the taxonomy of Australian biota, aligned with three priority areas: Biodiversity and Conservation, Public and Environmental Health, and Building Taxonomic Capacity. Seven grant streams are available with funding ranging from $10,000 to $375,000, with some requiring 50% co-funding.

Eligible applicants include Australian Honours, Masters, and PhD students, researchers, non-salaried researchers, postdoctoral fellows, and early career researchers. Host institutions must be Australian museums, herbaria, universities, or government agencies with a focus on taxonomy and systematics science.
