Overview

The Stronger Communities Programme provides grants to community organisations and local governments for infrastructure projects that deliver social benefits for local communities. Projects are selected by Members of Parliament and their community consultation committees, then submitted to the government for assessment. Round 9 has $22.65 million available to support infrastructure projects across eligible electorates.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must be community organisations or local governments. For the current Round 9 re-opening (as of 14 October 2025), projects must be located within the 2022 federal electorate boundary of Hinkler or Maribyrnong. All Round 9 projects must be completed by 30 April 2026.
