The program provides comprehensive development and support including structured training workshops, one-on-one mentoring, counselling, and peer learning to strengthen leadership, operational skills and business resilience.
The NNSIDI supports the creation of new and innovative native seed production enterprises throughout the Pilbara, Goldfields Esperance, and the Kimberley regions. Funded by $4.4 million, the initiative establishes Seed Production Area (SPA) trial sites that serve as models for future SPAs, providing training and building long-term business capacity. The program prioritizes Aboriginal-operated SPAs established on country and aims to create sustainable jobs while meeting mining companies' post-closure revegetation obligations.
The Kimberley Development Commission offers limited and targeted financial assistance to Kimberley businesses and organizations for specific projects and proposals. Support may include small grants for business case development, sponsorship of events with economic development or quality of life focus, support for regional participation in significant external events, letters of support for grant applications, and project facilitation with government agencies.
