Overview

The Queensland Government Vessel Tracking Rebate Scheme offsets the costs commercial fishers incur to purchase and have approved vessel tracking units installed on their commercial fishing boats. Eligible costs include purchase and installation of approved vessel tracking units, with installation rebates capped at $220.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must hold a permanent commercial fishing licence (not suspended), have purchased approved vessel tracking units between 1 June 2018 and 30 June 2027, and register units on FishNet SECURE. Maximum rebates vary by licence type and fishery symbols, ranging from 1 to 7 units. Category A units eligible for up to $300 rebate; Category B units eligible for up to $750 rebate.

A structured mediation process administered by QRIDA that provides an efficient and equitable way for farmers and mortgagees (lenders) to attempt to resolve matters relating to farm business debt. Mediation is required before mortgagees can take possession of a property or other enforcement action under a farm mortgage. The process involves a neutral mediator assisting farmers and lenders to reach agreement, and is typically cheaper and quicker than arbitration or litigation.
